Q: Does GrooveTown travel?
A: YES!!! Although we generally try to limit our traveling radius from Ontario to Miami, we will always consider a date outside of our normal radius.
Q: How much will it cost me to book GrooveTown?
A: The price of the band varies greatly, depending on many factors such as travel, production requirements, day of week, and time of year. GrooveTown is a five-piece event band that may include an optional DJ, optional vocalists, or optional instrumentalists, and is based in Raleigh, NC. So, an outdoor New Year’s Eve party in the Caribbean for 10,000 people will be priced differently than an indoor wedding for 200 in Raleigh. The five-piece core band can fit most entertainment budgets. Contact your entertainment professional today to check availability and pricing for your date. Q: How does GrooveTown prepare for an event?
A: Every detail, from musical selection, volume control,
costuming, set-up times, themes and venue requirements, to learning a special
song is discussed with the client. The result is an incredibly run, trouble-free
event for you and your guests to enjoy and remember.
Q: I just booked GrooveTown for a four hour event, what happens if I need you guys to do something outside of those four hours?
A: Additional services, and individual performers are always available. Ask your entertainment professional how to add a classical guitarist, jazz guitarist, cocktail pianist, M.C., jazz duo, jazz trio, jazz quartet, jazz quintet, D.J., or anything else you can think of.
Q: Will you wear (fill in what you want the band to look like here)?
A: YES!!! GrooveTown is the do it all, play it all party band.
Q: Do you take requests?
A: YES!!! While we do welcome the challenge of "on-the-spot requests", we recommend that a reasonable time element be allowed for any special music (i.e. Bride and Groom's first dance, company jingles, etc.)
Q: Do you have an M.C.?
A: YES!!! We only ask that any formal announcements that we are to make are printed in 12pt Arial font (much like what you're reading now . . . it's easy on the eyes isn't it?) and that any unusual names be accompanied by a suggested pronunciation (Seamus becomes Shay-mis). Hieroglyphics scribbled on a cocktail napkin will be given an honest attempt, but can't be guaranteed.
Q: How long will you guys play at my club / wedding reception / corporate event?
A: That's up to you, however at a typical engagement, we prefer to play two 90 minute sets or three 60 minute sets with short breaks in between depending on how your function is organized. For corporate functions, festivals, block parties, and parking lot parties, GrooveTown is happy to play a 3 hour, continuous music set.
Q: Why do bands take breaks?
A: Imagine doing a 180 minute aerobic workout . . . Now imagine that you're an out of shape musician who's last stab at REAL exercise was walking to the end of the driveway to get his newspaper this morning. 'Nuff said.
Q: When you take your break, will you have a CD to play?
A: We'll see your CD, and raise you a radio station style computer program with 1,000,000+ songs loaded and ready to go. There will be no "dead air" during your event. We will, at your request, play a CD that you provide.
Q: How do you feel about event planners?
A: The same way we feel about everybody else. We love the cool ones.
Q: It's January, and my wedding is in October. Would it be wise to send the full itinerary for my wedding day?
A: No. A representative of GrooveTown will be contacting you as the date of your event approaches to nail down all of the last minute particulars. All we need to get started is the date, time, city, and any special instructions.
Q: You guys didn't answer crap. Where can I get real answers to MY questions?
A: Geeze, that was kinda harsh don't you think? Just send an email to Party@GrooveTownBand.com.
THANKS FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION!
